It’s with great excitement that Vegas Food & Fun announces that they have acquired Nevada’s Big Give, with the intention to further encourage and support local non-profits by providing information to keep Las Vegas locals and visitors connected to the pulse of the community. Las Vegas Food & Fun welcomes all members of Nevada’s Big Give community and looks forward to building an even brighter future for the amazing city of Las Vegas.

History of Nevada’s Big Give

Nevada’s Big Give (NBG), nvbiggive.org, was founded in 2011 by a lifelong Nevadan named Stacey Wedding, who was committed to making a difference in her community and throughout southern Nevada. The purpose of Nevada’s Big Give is to offer a platform that helps smaller non-profits that don’t have the same fundraising advantages that larger organizations do.

Each year NBG hosts an annual 24-hour crowdsourcing fundraising event, where nearly all of the proceeds go to Nevada non-profits. In addition to these events, NBG has directly impacted many charitable organizations in Las Vegas.

One of Nevada Gives Back major focuses in Las Vegas has been to support museum culture throughout the city. In 2019, they helped the Las Vegas Discovery Museum open a new exhibit. For families in Las Vegas and visitors with children, The Las Vegas Discovery Children’s Museum is a treasured part of the community.

Additionally, NBG has helped the fundraising efforts of other local Las Vegas museums, including the Mob Museum, the Smith Center, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, and the natural area of Springs Preserve.

During the course of its operation, NBG has worked with many prominent names in the Las Vegas entertainment and sports scenes to bring awareness to its annual fundraising events. They’ve collaborated with the Las Vegas NHL team, the Golden Knights, who play their home games at the T-Mobile Arena.

Other collaborations include Cirque du Soleil, Terry Factor, and Brad Garrett, who has one of the best comedy clubs in Las Vegas.

Supporting Las Vegas Through Culture and Tourism

Vegas Food & Fun works to promote everything wonderful about Las Vegas to both tourists and locals. As lovers of everything in Las Vegas, we aim to make it easier to explore this great city and help people discover events, activities, and attractions that they might not otherwise have. Our goal with the acquisition of Nevada’s Big Give is to further promote that knowledge and support the cultural aspects of Las Vegas.

The Arts & Museum Culture In Las Vegas

Looking at how NBG has supported museums, we’re excited to further promote the rich and exciting museum culture in Las Vegas. Some of the unique and enriching museum experiences we’re excited to promote include the Las Vegas Atomic Museum, the Neon Museum, where you can find a collection of vintage and restored Vegas neon signs, the many automotive museums, the Titanic Museum at the Luxor Hotel, the Las Vegas installation of Madame Tussauds in the Grand Canal Shoppes of the Venetian Resort (a gondola ride is a must while you’re there), and Zak Bagan’s Haunted Museum.

In recent years, Las Vegas has welcomed modern, experience-oriented museums that we have been proud to promote. The Museum of Dream Space (MODS) celebrates digital art. Additionally, we were excited to promote the opening of Area15 in Las Vegas, which features unique sensory experiences, such as Museum Fiasco and the Area15 Van Gogh Experience. Area15 is a relatively new addition to Las Vegas, and with a location that’s just a few miles from the Las Vegas Strip and Fremont Street, it’s expected to bring more people and revenue into this particular area of Las Vegas.

Introducing Las Vegas Culture to Families, Children, & Teens

One of the most important ways we can think of to support the Las Vegas community is to make sure that families with children and teens know how many wonderful things there are for all ages to enjoy in Las Vegas. Whether you’re looking for something to do with toddlers, big kids, or teens, Las Vegas is full of opportunities.

Las Vegas is known for its great shows, but they’re not all only for adults. Many of the most popular shows on the Las Vegas Strip and off are appropriate for all ages. Here is a list of our favorite shows for families with kids and teens (check each individual show for age and maturity recommendations).

Parents and children have lots more that they can do in Las Vegas. Families can visit one of the many great aquariums in Las Vegas. The Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is a favorite, but kids always love the live mermaid show at the aquarium in the Silverton Hotel. For kids that want to be in the water instead of looking at it from the outside, a trip to a Las Vegas waterpark is always a fun afternoon. Cowabunga Bay and Wet n Wild Waterpark are two of the favorites.

Families with animal lovers in the group will enjoy enriching activities like visiting the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat, the Siegfried & Roy Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat, while adventure lovers will enjoy getting their thrills on some of the best Las Vegas adventure rides:

There are lots of great family-friendly hotels in Las Vegas, and if fur babies are a part of your family, there are hotels that welcome pets too!

Supporting Downtown Las Vegas Culture

The Downtown Area of Las Vegas is a cultural epicenter, and we’re happy to support all the businesses and organizations in the area. Downtown Las Vegas is home to some great attractions, including the Downtown Container Park and the Arts District Las Vegas. The area also hosts many events, including  Las Vegas Bike Week, which brings in thousands of visitors to the area.

For those looking to spend some time in Downtown Las Vegas, there are wonderful opportunities to explore the area. Tours, such as Brewery Tours, Dispensary Tours, and Las Vegas Food Tours, are great ways to familiarize yourself with the great downtown businesses. While there, check out the Best Fremont Street Restaurants and maybe stay in one of the Cheap Hotels on Fremont Street.
